Eric Mendez, O.D.
Eric Mendez, O.D. is a therapeutic optometrist specializing in cataract and glaucoma care. A LaMarque, Texas native, Dr. Mendez earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Houston. He then completed his Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston.
Dr. Mendez is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population. He is committed to providing patient-centered care and believes in the importance of early detection and treatment of eye conditions.
Prior to joining Coastal Eye Associates, Dr. Mendez worked at Southwest Eye Institute, where he provided in-office procedures and co-managed retinal pathology alongside ophthalmologists and optometrists. Dr. Mendez also has experience with family eye care, contact lens fitting, eye surgery co-management and glaucoma co-management.
Outside of his professional practice, Dr. Mendez enjoys photography, reading, boxing, and traveling.
