Dr. Sabah Amir Joins the Coastal Eye Associates Team

Coastal Eye Associates (CEA) is proud to welcome ophthalmologist Dr. Sabah Amir to our medical team. Dr. Amir is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, diabetic eye disease and retinal conditions.
Dr. Amir earned her Doctor of Medicine from Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with honors distinction in surgery, neurology, psychiatry and emergency medicine. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in mathematics.
Her clinical training includes an internship in internal medicine at the University of South Florida, where she also completed her ophthalmology residency and served as chief resident. During her residency, she received the Kaushal/Sharma Award for Surgical Excellence and the Best Overall Research Project Award for her work developing an artificial intelligence–driven platform designed to improve glaucoma medication management.
Dr. Amir’s approach to care combines evidence-based medicine, refined surgical technique and a dedication to improving long-term patient outcomes. Her experience in managing complex eye diseases and commitment to compassionate care will greatly benefit patients across the region.
She will see patients at our Texas City, Webster, Houston and Pasadena locations.
